Fact: Using CuteWriter PDF creator.
Problem: P3 freezes when trying to print to PDF
Problem: Print Error General Error when printing from a pdf writer
Fix: Verify that the latest P3 Service Pack (P3 3.1 Service Pack 3) is installed. If the error still occurs after installing Service Pack 3, create a shorter PDF port by following the steps below.

1. Create a new folder on a Local Drive that has no spaces or symbols, has 8 characters or less, and is no more than 5 levels deep.
For
example, C:\PDFPort.

2. Go to Start, Settings, Printers.  Right-click on the icon for the PDF creater and select Properties.

3. Select the Ports tab, then click the Add Port… button.


4. Select PDF Port and click on the New Port… button. 



5. Select the new folder you created and click OK. Click X to close Printer Ports dialog.



6. Make sure the new PDFPort is selected



7. Click on the Advanced tab. Select “Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster” and “Start printing after last page is spooled” options.



8. Click Printing Defaults.


9. Click Layout tab (at top).


10. Click Advanced…



11. Change print Quality to 600 DPI


12. Hit Ok


13. Hit APPLY (must hit apply)


14. Continue to hit ok until it closes.


You should be able to successfully create a PDF file using your PDF creater next time you launch P3.
