Problem: | Running reregister.bat after installing Microsoft Hotfix KB912945 causes Internet Explorer to display blank pages |
Problem: | Internet Explorer and other applications that use the IE engine will not function properly if reregister.bat is run after installing Microsoft Hotfix KB912945. Other browsers are not affected. |
Fix: | Do not run reregister.bat if KB912945 is installed |
Fix: | If reregister.bat is run after KB912945 is installed, follow these steps to return the computer to a functional state: 1. From the Windows Control Panel, open Add/Remove Programs. If necessary, check the “Show Updates” box. 2. Find Update for Windows XP (KB912945). Select it, and click Remove. 3. When prompted, reboot the computer. 4. After rebooting, run reregister.bat again. 5. Reboot after running reregister.bat. |
